Armenian Van Cats .

Origin
These cats came from the mountains surrounding Lake Van .V Europe they were brought in 50-ies of XX century. Characteristic features of Van cats is, firstly, the chestnut-colored tail (the rest of the body except the head, white), and, they love of the water and swimming.

Characteristics of the breed
Smart, elegant, have a memorable appearance, hardy, cheerful, fond of water. Lively, very lively. Van cats love company of people and other cats, funny and affectionate. (Be aware that not all Vanir love water, so do not keep a pet immediately to climb into the bath or pond. Let the cat decide for itself whether to swim or not.)

Description
The body of medium size, strong. The wool is silky, long, without undercoat. Short triangular head, round light amber eyes. The tail is red, visible ring of a darker hue.

Care
Needs frequent grooming strongly molt in spring and summer. Bathing in cold conditions may catch cold.
